Chair Blocks have been designed to help alleviate the discomfort experienced by musicians when using poor seating at rehearsal halls, theatres, concert and gig venues.

They help promote good posture by raising

the chair legs, encouraging the knees to sit below the hips. All blocks have two height settings - simply flip over to find your preferred posture.

Chair Blocks have been tried and tested by professional musicians at many venues across the UK, enabling me to create the most versatile posture aid. With studies showing over 60% of contract musicians experiencing

chronic back pain, it’s vital we do our best to limit an avoidable issue that can make a musician's life a misery.  

Neutral body position

Recent clients include the London Philharmonic Orchestra, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, as well as individuals from prominent UK orchestras such as the the London Mozart Players, Opera North and English National Ballet. Many West End, studio, freelance musicians and education establishments are also using Chair Blocks.   

There are four models to choose from, all with dual height settings. The Strad and Amati models are designed for standard chair legs, whilst the Rocca models are modified to allow the use of 'bar chairs' too.

Combining two sets of blocks, available as part of a package deal, allows for multiple posture combinations, helping to achieve the most comfortable playing position possible.

Individually handmade in England from solid hardwood, Chair Blocks are durable, functional, affordable and beautifully made. Leather cord is available as an optional extra to assist carrying your blocks on and off stage whilst also carrying your instrument.

You can also choose to personalise your blocks by having them stamped with your name and contact number in case they are misplaced. This option is free.
